#3 Ibis

Ibis was a wonderful place to stay. It was very comfortable and aesthetically lovely with everything we needed including good quality pots for cooking, and comfy furnishings. We were amazed that in August, while we were here, we could see the sun rise from the screen porch. The beach on this part of the Island is magnificent. Sunsets were spectacular with the enormous sky filling with colors. The folks at Breakaway were friendly and helpful with so many things.

We spent a week at #3 ibis. The cottage is as clean, decorated so cute and made you relaxed just walking in. The beach is a 5 minute walk to the end of the road. The wagons and beach chairs they provide for you to use is a huge plus. We rented a 10x10 canopy from Finnimore's rentals. They also rent umbrellas. The beach is truly a private beach, a few days we were the only ones on the beach, so relaxing. The shelling is amazing so many shells!! You won’t be disappointed booking here we would definitely rent again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Located close to a secluded beach was wonderful for us as we love to collect shells. We found many favorites. Quality furnishings and tastefully decorated. Front porch was enjoyable even on a cool night with a nice space heater and a relaxing view of the front of the property.  This is a quality little piece of property. The management very accommodating.  Ibis is a gem.

This last visit to Ibis was not our first. The units and landscaping at Periwinkle Cottages have been entirely redone because of the hurricane damage. Ibis is comfortable, clean, and pleasant. In fact, it is better now than in the past. Everything is there for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. We had a great time and hope to go back again.

Wonderful quiet location. About a 10 minute walk to a perfect beach, with not as much crowd as down by the light house beach. Perfectly clean. Well stocked kitchen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Ibis #3 Cottage on Sanibel Island. It was our first visit to the island and the cottage provided a comfortable relaxing lodging. I would highly recommend the Periwinkle Cottages. Very organized management and nice accomodations.

Had trouble at first with the wifi. when I contacted them about it they stayed on it till it got solved. Didn't give up on me. The area was quite and very comfortable. walking distance to the beach where we found a lot of cool looking shells. Loved it there

We had an amazing experience in Ibis#3. My 2 friends and I took a “Girls Trip” to Sanibel. Accommodations: Comfy king size bed, crisp linens, brand new hide-a-bed with a very comfy blow-up air mattress. Cute updated decor, apartment-size fridge, plenty big for meals for 3 adults, well-appointed kitchenette w/granite countertop, nice size living area. Easy check-in, new hotel-style air conditioners (not pictured) that kept the unit nice and cold, even in July! Coin laundry on site, grills, everything you need for the beach: chairs, umbrella, shell gear, beach towels, wagons, and more! Check the stash before you buy anything! Location: Quiet neighborhood, we road the free bikes to the beach. The beach access was a little hard to find, tucked in behind the plush foliage on a gravel drive, then down a pathway to park the bikes, and through the dunes to the PRIVATE beach! So amazing! No high rise buildings, just a few private homes in sight far off the shoreline. So private that we were a good 30 ft away from the next beach-goers! We may never go back to a condo beach community again. The cottage is on a quiet main road. Turn left, head to Captiva. Turn right, he's to Sanibel.-just a few miles either way. Sanibel-what a treasure! So much is preserved like “old Florida.” Quiet, relaxed, no crowds when we were there, we ate dinner around 5:00 each night and never waited for a table. We ate brunch at the Sunset Grill every morning with gulf-view and a breeze (ask for Michelle). The abundance of shells on our private beach exceeded our expectations. Surprises: the exterior needed a good pressure washing and a little paint, but the inside made up for that, and you are on a tropical island, after all, especially for the price!! Shell-cleaning station was cool! Alligator warning signs surprised us, but we never saw an alligator! The cottage was actually a duplex, but did not feel like a duplex, and we did not hear our neighbors from inside. If you are interested in deep-sea fishing or sight-seeing, check out Captain Sean O'Connor at Four Leaf Charter. We shelled and lunched on a private island! So cool! We had ample room for 3 adult besties and, for us, for this price, Periwinkle Cottages was absolutely perfect!!!

Great location, easy to find cottage. Beautiful landscaping, wonderful place to stay. Convenient kitchen, washer/dryer accommodations, comfortable bed. My wife and I celebrated our 50th anniversary during our weekly stay and would definitely return. Thank you Kim and Andrea for being so helpful.

The cottage was perfect. Very inviting, clean and cozy. Provisions for a wonderful beach day were all provided, chairs, umbrellas, cooler, towels and more! Just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The beach was beautiful. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again soon.

Ibis was nothing short of perfect. The cottage gave us everything we needed for our vacation. If we decide on another sanibel vacation there is only one place we will look to stay. Thanks for a wonderful vacation

Our time in Sanibel was delightful mostly due to staying at the Periwinkle Cottages - from the available bikes which made the trip to the beach just a few short minutes, to the location perfectly situated between the busier part of Sanibel and the active area within Captiva, to the well decorated unit and super comfortable bed, to the mini kitchen that surprisingly had everything we needed to eat a few meals in the screened in porch, to an easy check in/check out process. We highly recommend Periwinkle Cottages to any visitors to Sanibel!

Loved our stay here, wish it was longer. Bikes and wagons to cart your stuff to the beach was awesome. Also the chairs, umbrella, and cooler provided were perfect for making a long day at the beach possible. Can't wait to visit again.

If your idea of a great vacation is to relax in a cozy retreat away from the glitz and glam and hustle and bustle of a five star resort, Periwinkle Cottages is for you. Tucked away in a quite neighborhood on the quite west end of Sanibel, Periwinkle Cottages offers everything you need for a perfect vacation. Obviously they are doing something right--we keep going back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway at Periwinkle Cottages. Like going back in time but with modern conveniences and comfort. We definitely want to return.

Location was perfect. Nicely decorated and so clean. The unit itself has everything you could need or want as does the little “community” of, I think 4-5 units. Will return!

Our stay at Ibis was great. So close to the beach and away from the crowds. It was perfect for our anniversary trip.

Periwinkle Cottages are my favorite place to vacation. When I am there I am close to everything I want, the beach, the pool, great food and privacy. The owner and her manager are great and Sanibel Island is the nicest vacation spot I have ever been to. If you like warm weather, the beach and outdoor activities you will enjoy Periwinkle Cottages

Cute cottage! Kitchen was sufficient (and we cooked almost every meal there). Nice living room with a couch and tv. Bathroom was nice but I recommend buying extra paper products. Big, comfy bed. Two AC units for different zones. Bikes, which we rode to the end of the road where our private beach was. Outdoor shower. Grocery stores Bailey’s and Jerry’s more than sufficient. If you have time, see Captiva too- beautiful island.

We had a great time for our quick getaway to Sanibel at the Ibis #3 cottage. Very clean and close enough to everything. The private beach access, free parking, and use of bicycles were all great perks. Highly recommend. We'll be back!

This was my second stay since January at the Ibis cottage. I just love Periwinkle Cottages. It has everything a person needs to enjoy a wonderful Sanibel vacation. I walk every day, and I love that the beach is very close, and the residential neighborhood where the cottages are located is full of friendly locals and beautiful homes. I'm a solo traveler, and I feel completely safe at the cottages. The cottages have every amenity one would expect at home, and everything is very CLEAN and bright. I love the retro feel of the place. Dealing with Breakaway is always very easy and friendly and I appreciated the text about the availability of the early check-in. I love this end of the island as well - it's so quiet and also close to Captiva. Thank you for another wonderful stay. I will definitely be back to my home away from home.

Very Clean Great Location

How could you not love it here!! This was our third stay at Periwinkle Cottages, (the second time in Ibis) and we are already scheduled for next year. The unit was clean and everything was in working order. It is a cozy retreat yet spacious enough to be comfortable. The king sized bed is comfortable. Plenty of storage space for clothes. The kitchen has about everything needed if you do some cooking. Access to a fabulous uncrowded beach is included (about a 10 minute walk but about 30 seconds if you drive!) Beach equipment is furnished--umbrella, towels, chairs, shelling tools, and wagons to haul all the "stuff" if you walk to the beach. The sunsets are magnificent and the shelling is fabulous. The cottages are in a quiet neighborhood on the much quieter western end of Sanibel. Bikes are available as the fantastic bike path is right across the street. We have found our paradise!

Ibis was very clean and well-equipped for our week's stay. Kitchen set up, plenty of towels, screened porch and bicycles were perfect touches. Loved everything at Periwinkle!

Quaint cottages with beach accessories and bikes right on hand, short walk to the beach with the islands best shelling! Grill and outdoor seating, lanai. Simple amenities inside, need to make a trip to local store to settle in. Close biking to Ding darling, Captiva, shopping, restaurants and more. Will return for a 3rd time, no doubt!

The cottage and location were great. It had everything we needed and was very clean. The beach area was not too crowded. We loved the beach equipment and the bikes. The only thing that would have been the cherry on the top would have been some youth bikes being available. If we come back to Sanibel we definitely would stay here again.

The stay was wonderful. We spent lots of time on the beach which was short walk. The cabin was clean and well maintained. I would recommend my friends to stay if they are looking for a relaxing time.

The unit was as advertised. Lovely stay! Convenient to beach. Kim was a joy to work with.

We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and all the amenities included (bikes, grills, outdoor shower, all beach equipment needed),which we took advantage of using. Kim was just wonderful to work with, providing a seamless short vacation with timely information and direct phone calls. Looking forward to returning next year and will probably rent 2 cottages and bring more family! ps. The local beach was incredible.Used the parking permit daily. Sat day,all day with only 4 other people on our private beach, lol! T.he shelling was incredible

I’m in love with the individual private cottages. Each one is so cute and unique, and clean. Close to the beaches and I LOVE the free bike rentals that come with it. Super fun way to explore the island

We had a fantastic time while staying in the Ibis! The close private beach was so gorgeous, unit was tastefully and comfortably updated, and the management company was great to work with before, during, and after our stay. We have since rebooked with the same company and have referred our friends and family who are looking for the perfect, no hassle local getaway. Highly recommend!

Nice, clean bungalow with a cute little porch. Perfect space for a couple or small family. We had a good time sitting in the screened in porch in the mornings.
