Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Beds and furniture were very comfortable. We will definately be staying here again. Perfect location for a quiet get away.

The Heron is a wonderful cottage with plenty of room for a family. It is well appointed and well kept. The availability of bikes is a wonderful addition too. We were able to bike most of the island to see and do fun things. The best part is the private access to the beach! an easy walk or quick bike ride to some of the best shelling in the world.Kim and her staff are very helpful and attentive. We'll be staying here again next year!

Great cottage! It’s nice to have laundry right there in the area. The bicycles were enjoyed by our entire group. This is the second time I’ve stayed in these cottages and will definitely stay there again!

We stayed 2 nights and had a great time seeing the island, experiencing the beach and restaurants. Heron cottage was clean and comfortable. I will plan ahead in the future! I have others that will love it too!

This is our second time staying at the west end cottages and I will never stay anywhere else on Sanibel. The west end is peaceful and quiet. The cottage is charming, cozy and well thought out. Very clean and the owners have provided a parking pass for the private beach, bikes, a shell scoop and so many other small comforts that you don't realize you need until you are there. The private beach is a short walk down the street and is very quiet. Shelling is typically good and you aren't surrounded by lots of other people. I was the only person on the beach as I walked pretty far to find shells on our last night there.

I have been staying at Periwinkle Cottages for many years. It is my home away from home. I have stayed in all four cottages and each one is charming and clean. I have never been disappointed and look forward to my next stay.

Our vacation at the Heron cottage was amazing. Everything you may n3ed is included with the cottage; bikes, shell washing station, grills. The location is amazing; just a short walk or quick bike ride to an incredible beach. While we did have a problem with the air conditioning when there the response from the management was quick and helpful. Can't wait to return

Enjoyed our stay at #1 Heron. Highly recommend Captain Andy for a private fishing charter. Also enjoyed lots of time at the Ding Darling Wildlife Preserve. Enjoyed the evening cruise there. Made good use of the bikes that are provided at the cottages. Rode for miles and found many geocaches.

We stayed for one night, but wished we could have stayed a few more. There was everything we need for a comfortable stay. Just a short walk to the ocean and convenient to all sights. Highly recommend.

Such a cute cottage. Had everything we needed to enjoy our stay right down to the washer and dryer in the laundry room. The location was perfect!Beach access down the road, bike distance to J.N. Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge Area and the driving distance to the shops and restaurants were very close. Very relaxing!! Thank you for sharing your cottage with us

My daughter and I needed a break from the cold north and were able to squeeze a two-day trip to Sanibel. Cottage was roomy, clean, cute, and so much better than a hotel! Just a short bike ride to the beach, owners provide all the beach necessities including boogie boards, a little beach umbrella, a wagon to cart it all... great getaway. Would love to go back for a longer stay!

It was a quiet, relaxing place for my family of five to be. The beach was so close, and it was like we had our own private space on the beach. We will recommend it to friends.

If you want to spend time on the beach and in nature with less people around, this is the place. The cottage itself is clean, comfy, bright and updated yet still retaining old time Florida charm. We slept well, enjoyed the screen porch to eat our meals, made good use of the bikes and beach chairs, rinsed off our shells and then did it all again. We saw so many dolphins in the mornings! We’ll be back!

Lovely cottage with a relaxing, quaint, older Florida feel. We enjoyed staying in the spotless, fully equipped cottage. Everything we needed for a wonderful beach trip was at our fingertips. We look forward to another stay.

Newly renovated and immaculately clean cottage. The beds were extremely comfortable and had lots of extra pillows. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach and the beautiful scenery. We had some difficulty with the AC but the rental agency responded quickly and walked us thru the process of fixing it. The AC worked well and we slept soundly. We will most certainly be back!!

The place looks nice and just a shirt wall to the beach, fun to look for shells and looking at the turtle nests.

I was blown away by the cleanliness!! From the moment we walked in it was obvious that great care is taken to make sure EVERYTHING is clean. We were concerned at first that we were too far away from "things to do" but realized we basically had a private beach, which was wonderful. We biked to Captiva as well as down to the lighthouse at the other end - where it was heavily populated. The cottage was super cute with all the kitchen items you need for preparing meals. We will definitely be back. Thank you Kim!

We had a wonderful stay and the owner supplied many amenities that made it easy to just vacation. There were bikes, towels, chairs, etc... The room was clean and everything was in working order. I would recommend

My first impression when we drove up was "oh no, this place is going to be too small for my family." I was wrong! What an amazing set up. There was a full kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 bathrooms, big bedroom with a king bed, and another even bigger bedroom with 2 full/queen size beds. You cannot see the water from the cottage, but a 2 minute drive or 5 minute walk and you are there (almost a private beach as well). Literally everything is included, except food. We are already planning our next stay. Thank you for a great spot. Oh and the cardinal still shows up every morning tapping at the window.

We loved our stay at Periwinkle Heron Cottage - was the perfect place to relax and enjoy family and nature! Had everything we needed for a great vacation!

We arrived at the cottage and were pleasantly surprised at how roomy and spacious it was. The cottage was perfect for our needs and the amenities improved the stay. Being so close to the beach for the beautiful sunsets was so convenient. We highly recommend staying there and plan to return.

This place was very clean and comfortable. We will forever be glad that we chose to stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at the Heron cottage. The cottage was very clean and It had all the amenities beach chair bicycles to ride . I definitely recommend. And Kim the property manager was a pleasure to work with.

We recently returned from our stay at the Breakaway cottages in Sanibel. The cottage was adorable, very beachy, clean, newly remodeled and the beds were amazingly comfy!! The cottage had everything you need at your finger tips, bikes, beach towels, carts to tote all of your things to the beach, and more. We loved our stay here we'll be back!

Great place to stay! It was clean, super comfortable, close to great beach spot. Thanks for help us have a great memory. Can't wait to stay again.

Our family enjoyed staying at the cottage #1 Heron. The amenities were very comfortable and cozy. There is a lot of day light in the cottage which was nice. It was a little bit of a walk to the beach but we were able to use the wagon which was available at the site. Thank you for a great vacation!

I was completely blown away with the friendliness and kindness with Kim. Kim went over and beyond her daily services to accommodate my safety and experience with vacationing in paradise! Everything that was told of me to be expected was 100% truthful . The cottage was immaculate!! I will most definitely be booing with Kim again on my next vacation!!

We loved staying at Periwinkle Cottages. It has everything you need for a nice getaway and Kim, the property manager is super helpful. It’s location is perfect and tucked away with beach access away from the crowds.

Great location and accommodations!

This was our first visit to Periwinkle Cottages and did not know what to expect. My wife and I had a great experience. Our unit, #1, was perfect for the two of us--cozy, comfortable, clean, quiet location, and reasonably priced for the peak season on Sanibel. It had everything we needed. The only negative was it took so long to get hot water, but we were able to actually meet and talk with the maintenance supervisor and this was on his list to fix. The cottages provided free bikes, bike helmets and locks, all of which we used. Beach towels, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, and wagons to haul all of this "stuff" were provided, again, all of which we used. Free beach access is also provided. It is about a 10 minute walk down a quiet street to get to the beach. If you take all that is provided, the rental IS a bargain!! And the shelling was spectacular! Everyone we met or talked with associated with Periwinkle--Kim, maintenance supervisor, and cleaning staff were all friendly and personable. Thank you, Kim, for one of our most memorable trips!! By the way, we booked for next year already!

Everything was great. This rental was fabulous!!!

The location is private, on a residential street. With only four cottages, this is a perfect spot for a family, girls weekend or couples retreat. I can't say enough about this place! It was very clean! I have stayed at many VRBO's and this one was the cleanest by far! It had every single amenity that you could possibly need: Gas and Charcoal grills, chairs to sit out front with your morning coffee, shelling station, free bikes to enjoy the endless nature trails or to the local grocery store. The beds, sheets, and pillows were all very comfortable. The trip to the beach? Towels, umbrellas, chairs AND for the extra bonus, they have wagons to use to haul your stuff. They have private beach parking with a parking pass if you chose to not walk the 5 minute walk to the beach. The beach is very private with very few beach goers. My guess is the cottage is nestled within private homes and there did not appear to be any resorts. If you are looking for something more private and away from the hustle and bustle of resort life, this is it! I will be back again and again. This place will NOT disappoint!

Kim and Tony were great and so easy to work with. They had everything lined out for the property of all details and expectations, which I really appreciate and makes the stay a lot easier. The property is centrally located between Sanibel and Captiva which was perfect. Its quite and the neighborhood and neighbors are super friendly. A Bike ride away to the beach! I will definitely stay here or any Breakway Property truly great hospitality!

We had a great time staying in The Heron. The kitchen had everything we need, the screen porch was so nice at night, and the location was close to everything.
